"When we were choosing our planner, we wanted someone who was knowledgeable and organized while still being a chill and nice person to work with. From earlier friends’ weddings, we had seen planners who were organized but very curt or even rude to the wedding party or guests when they didn’t know something or had questions. We knew we wanted a person who would be kind to our friends and family and match the environment we wanted for our day. It only took one 30 minute conversation with Elizabeth to know she was the person we wanted to work with. She brought years of experience and connections to the table while also coming across as kind, curious, and having a good sense of humor. On top of her real world experience, she also taught a college level hospitality course, and everyone knows teachers have to have enormous amounts of patience. By sheer luck, that last bit double paid off since the venue coordinator for our wedding had been a student of hers, and they had a great relationship that made it much easier to get what we needed from our venue.
For our wedding dessert we didn’t want cake and instead chose to self supply frozen custard from our local neighborhood shop. Bringing your own frozen goods to a wedding became a logistical puzzle at every step but Elizabeth knew it was important to us. She worked out everything with the caterer from how to get it to the venue and stored property to how it could best be served. The part that takes the (proverbial) cake: she even took the leftovers home with her and stored it in her personal freezer, letting us come by and pick up everything at her house when we got back from our honeymoon. Over a year and a half later, I still can’t believe she did that for us and how generous she is with her clients when she can help.
Elizabeth made me totally comfortable asking dumb or even half-baked questions early on in the process like “Do I really just blindly pick a time for the service?” or “what is the normal thing to do for xyz?” She advised on things I had no opinion on without making me feel bad about not caring and brainstormed with me to find solutions for the things I did care about even if they were small but complicated. She perfectly matched my approach of putting energy where it mattered and not where it didn’t.
Everything went so smoothly on the wedding day (at least that I know of!) I just remember feeling grateful. Elizabeth's hard work made it truly easy for us to enjoy every moment of the day and stay present, which is an invaluable gift."
